Find answers to common questions about using Coopie. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact your cooperative administrator or our support team.
You don’t create an account directly. Your cooperative administrator will send you an invitation via email. Click the link in the invitation email, set your password, and your account will be ready to use.
Visit the login page, select your cooperative from the list, then enter your email address and password. If you belong to multiple cooperatives, you’ll need to choose which one to log into.
After logging in, you’ll see your member dashboard with an overview of your contributions, loans, and notifications. Use the sidebar menu to navigate between sections like Contributions, Loans, Profile, and Notifications.
Each cooperative defines its own contribution types, such as Monthly Savings, Share Capital, or Special Levy. Contribution types can be mandatory or voluntary, and each has its own minimum amount and payment schedule.
Contributions are typically deducted from your salary by your cooperative administrator. If your cooperative supports direct payments, you can make contributions through the platform. Check with your cooperative administrator for the available payment methods.
Navigate to the Contributions section from your dashboard sidebar. You’ll see a summary of your total contributions, a breakdown by contribution type, and a detailed payment history with dates and amounts.
A pledge is your commitment to contribute a specific amount to a contribution type each month. Your cooperative may require a minimum pledge for mandatory contribution types.
Go to the Loans section from your dashboard and click “Apply for Loan”. Select the loan product, enter the amount you need, and submit your application. You may need to provide guarantors depending on the loan product requirements.
Each cooperative offers different loan products with varying interest rates, maximum amounts, and repayment terms. Common products include Emergency Loans, Regular Loans, and Special Purpose Loans. Check the Loans section to see what your cooperative offers.
Loan repayments are typically deducted monthly from your salary alongside your regular contributions. Your repayment schedule, including monthly amount and remaining balance, is visible in the Loans section of your dashboard.
A guarantor is a fellow cooperative member who vouches for your loan application. If you are unable to repay, your guarantors may be held responsible. Most loan products require one or more guarantors before approval.
Loan approval timelines depend on your cooperative’s processes. Once you submit your application and your guarantors accept, the cooperative administrators will review and approve or decline your request. You’ll receive an email notification with the decision.
On the login page, click “Forgot Password” and enter your email address. You’ll receive an email with a link to create a new password. The link expires after 1 hour.
Go to your Profile page from the sidebar menu. You can update your personal details such as phone number, address, and bank account information. Some fields may require administrator approval to change.
For security, Coopie sends you an email notification each time someone logs into your account. The email includes details like the device, browser, and IP address. If you don’t recognize a login, secure your account immediately by changing your password.
Sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity. You may also be logged out if you log in from another device, as Coopie enforces single active session for security. Simply log in again to continue.
You join a cooperative through an invitation from the cooperative’s administrator. They will send an invitation to your email address. Accept the invitation and complete the registration to become a member.
Yes. You can be a member of multiple cooperatives on Coopie. When logging in, you’ll select which cooperative you want to access. Your data in each cooperative is kept completely separate.
Coopie has four member roles: Member (standard access), Executive (can view reports and summaries), Admin (can manage members, contributions, and loans), and Super Admin (platform-wide access). Your role is assigned by your cooperative administrator.
Dividends are annual distributions of the cooperative’s surplus to members, typically based on your total contributions during the year. Your cooperative administrator will process dividend payments, and you’ll see them reflected in your account.
For questions about your cooperative (contributions, loans, membership), contact your cooperative administrator directly. For technical issues with the Coopie platform, email us at hello@coopie.ng.
Your cooperative administrator is the person who manages your cooperative on Coopie. They handle member invitations, contribution records, loan approvals, and other administrative tasks. If you’re unsure who your administrator is, check with your cooperative office.
